A mouse can survive a fall from any height. Hippos aren't fat, and they can't swim. There are salamanders one foot long that don't have lungs or gills. There are snakes that can see in complete darkness, and fish that can sense your heartbeat. And once you understand some basic physics, none of this is surprising. In this class, we'll talk about the laws of nature that explain how creatures live and breathe and the tools they use to sense their world. We'll assume no background in physics or biology, just a sense of curiosity and a desire to learn more!
