(Online) Mindfulness Practices for Overall Well-Being
OSHR 9000This “back-by-request” course offers a variety of mindfulness practice tools for diverse audiences, and contributes to stress reduction, relaxation, focus and concentration, builds compassion, and overall well-being. Each session will offer hands-on group practice and research background information. New mindfulness practices will be introduced each week, progressively building competencies through an interactive format within your comfort level. Your shared experiences will inform our next week’s session. Participants will be invited to engage in guided practices. One example of a practice technique is focused breath meditation. Everyone is welcome and beginners are encouraged to attend.
Dr. Margit Hentschel is the Co-Founding Director for Colorado State University’s (CSU) Center for Mindfulness. She also serves as the Director of the Office of Service-Learning at CSU’s Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT). Margit teaches mindfulness practices in campus classrooms and community workshops and has over 20 years of teaching experience. Margit believes that a healthy mind/body connection facilitates a more sustainable relationship with one’s self and community. She holds a PhD from Colorado State University’s School of Education with a focus on Peace and Reconciliation Leadership.
