(Online) A Naturalist's Colorado
OSHR 8019Seeing wild Andean condors fulfilled this instructor’s lifelong ambition, but it was no dream come true; it was a nightmare. Ultimately, I realized that even nightmares could make life better. Rather than traveling the world to see giant pandas here and kangaroos there, I refocused my life so that Colorado became my destination. Experiencing personally all its landscapes and lifescapes, all its parks and mountain ranges, all its birds and mammals, I found that Colorado with its wildflowers and trees became the most rewarding passion of a lifetime. Stories of how a naturalist engages the 100,000 square miles called home just might inspire ambitions of your own.
Since earning his degrees in biology and wildlife biology from Western State College and CSU, Kevin has worked full-time as a self-employed writer-naturalist. As a lifelong naturalist, Kevin has explored Colorado to experience its wildlife firsthand, and has spent his entire adult life addressing the issues that arise between people and the natural world. Kevin writes natural history columns for newspapers and magazines, edits technical articles for scientific publications, leads wildlife observation tours, teaches various wildlife classes, and presents monthly wildlife lectures at several Colorado venues.
