We're All Creators | Smartphone Photography and Videography Basics (DRAKE HALL)

With continued advancements in technology, smartphone cameras have become far more than simple accessories—they are powerful tools for visual storytelling. In this course, participants will discover or renew their creative eye by learning how to make the most of the cameras we carry every day: our phones. Participants will explore the fundamentals of smartphone photography and videography, including camera settings, frame rates, composition techniques, and best practices for capturing both photos and videos. Whether documenting everyday moments, creative projects, or special occasions, learners will gain practical skills and confidence to create engaging visual content. All photography skill levels are welcome; a basic working knowledge of your smartphone is recommended. 

*Avery Martin is a Colorado-born-and-raised strategic multimedia communications professional with more than ten years of experience in visual and digital storytelling, including writing, podcasting, photography, videography, and design. A self-described jack of all trades and eventual master of some, Avery is a lifelong learner who enjoys helping others build creative confidence. A proud Colorado State University alumnus (B.A., '20), Avery serves as the Assistant Director of Communications for CSU's College of Health and Human Sciences, where he tells the stories of people and programs making an impact across Colorado and beyond. Outside of work, Avery spends time loving life with his wife and family, golfing, staying active, cooking (mainly eating), listening to vinyl, and deepening in his faith.
