Hope & Healing in the Age of Grief (DRAKE HALL)
OSHR 9077When faced with loss and grief, whether personal, societal, or ecological, we are both challenged and invited to transform our pain into compassion, care, and action. Join mindfulness expert, Sue Schneider, in a two-part series that explores perspectives from the science of hope and contemplative traditions to envision what is possible when we cultivate trust, hope, and courage. Heeding the late Jane Goodall’s call that “We need to face reality, and we need to give equal time to stories of hope, experiences of goodness, connection, awe and wonder,” our exploration will be practical and experiential, offering concrete steps for bringing mindful, compassionate, and openhearted attention to our personal and collective challenges and the opportunities that they present.
Sue Schneider, Ph.D., is a medical anthropologist, integrative health coach, and certified mindfulness instructor. She currently directs CSU Extension’s Health and Well-being Unit and supports community health initiatives across Colorado as an Extension Professor and State Health Specialist with CSU’s Office of Engagement and Extension.
