The Hebrew Bible Beyond Genesis: People, Places and Stories (DRAKE HALL)

The Hebrew Bible is filled with fascinating stories about men and women who, like all of us, are flawed yet strive to make a positive difference in the world.  The course will examine Bible texts and Midrash (non-biblical stories from Jewish tradition about the Bible's characters).  The presenter has offered classes in the past on Genesis; this course will examine people and stories from Exodus through the books of the Prophets and the Writings.   

Rabbi Hillel Katzir has been teaching at OLLI-CSU for over ten years, offering courses on Judaism, the Bible, World Religions, and Religions in America.  His passions are introducing participants to aspects of these topics with which they may not be familiar and increasing understanding across perceived lines of difference.
