OLLI Experience: Who You Are Matters! Experience Boardgame (DRAKE HALL)
OSHR 1222Experience seven highly structured and safe conversations with 3-6 peers (about your Personal Qualities, Strengths, Desires, Other People’s Influence, Assets, Natural Interests, and Possibilities). Participants report that they quickly get to know and enjoy their tablemates through “deep listening” and “being heard” (advice is not allowed), as well as through the gift of empathy and laughter. Holding a talking stick, you’ll tell 30-second stories, receive affirmative feedback, and create a “Clarification Statement” about “what’s next” possibilities. Used in 19 countries and by over 3,000 organizations, our research shows gains in curiosity and exploration, hope, self-efficacy, resilience, optimism, and organized thinking. Check out this video - https://onelifetools.com/pages/who-you-are-matters. Many find this a great entry into the OLLI community.
Rich Feller, Ph.D., LPC, JCTC, seeks to connect his research on aging with his personal aging to develop Finishing Well Beyond 50 ideas. His CSU Professorship and University Distinguished Teaching Scholar designation were built from training with Carl Rogers, Albert Ellis, and Richard Bolles to develop graduate students versed in “life design” and defining careers as “navigating a lifetime of life role transitions”. Practical efforts focused on co-authoring the Career Decision Making System (20M users), Co-founding Onelifetools.com (users in 19 countries and 3000 organizations), early YouScience.com consultant/shareholder (9M users of aptitude assessment), and Executive Director of CareerDevelopmentNetwork.org (4000+ certified career coaches worldwide). A consultant in 46 countries and 50 States, he now learns from teaching at Modern Elder Academy and from aging “pioneers” seeking to live with more grace, dignity, and mischief in a world that needs our best. His greatest joy is being married to Barb for over 38 years, being Dad to Chris and Taylor, and being a grandfather to Riley, who brings great joy.
